Cotton Town Village
The creation of CottonTown Village may have come from humble beginnings, but it has grown into the very heart and soul of Washington City. Owners George and Kathy Staheli started with a vision: provide Washington with quality entertainment, extraordinary shops, and plenty of opportunities for family fun! Established in 1999, the old-West flavor gives considerable charm to the center and imparts a relaxing timelessness you won’t find anywhere else. One of CottonTown Village’s most distinguished attractions is it’s theater, Brigham’s Playhouse.
A Dream Realized
Brigham’s Playhouse was formed by Professor Jamie Young who left a 19 year career as a professor of musical theatre. His last 12 years were spent as the head of the Theatre Department at Western Wyoming College. However, his vision of spreading a message of truthful, uplifting theatre led him to create his own company to achieve this purpose. After years of searching for the perfect setting, he found it in CottonTown Village.
The Theatre company was founded upon the principles of faith, integrity, and hard work. It is through this foundation that cast and crew are able to craft magnificent and heartfelt productions that inspire and transcend the stage to life. The intimate theatre carves out a place in the hearts of audiences where messages of truth can enter in.
The Experience
At Brigham’s Playhouse we provide more than entertainment; we offer a complete experience. Brigham’s Playhouse shares wholesome, uplifting theatre that will inspire positive changes in the lives of audiences. Brigham Young, a great founder of the West, understood what it took to build a community and what would happen to society without cultural opportunities. “Recreation and diversion are as necessary to our well-being as the more serious pursuits of life,” he said. Brigham built a theatre in many of the communities he settled in the West.
Lauded for it’s Broadway-caliber and family-friendly productions, Brigham’s Playhouse stands upon it’s statues of high standards. It has quickly become one of Southern Utah’s most treasured theaters. Come see for yourself the inspiring and captivating shows Brigham’s Playhouse has to offer!
Continuing to set itself apart, Brigham’s Playhouse is the first professional theatre to premier First Freedom, the critically acclaimed musical about the Founding Fathers. The theatre is also sure to become a staple of the Christmas season for many families with their musical production of the beloved classic It’s a Wonderful Life, running November 14th through January 3rd.
